Sam is an experienced agricultural and commercial leader with more than 15 years’ experience across the sector. In January 2026, she became an owner and founder of Planning for Profit UK, a business programme supporting farmers, following her departure from AHDB where she was Director of Beef & Lamb.
During her career, Sam has held senior roles with AHDB and the National Farmers Union, alongside an earlier career in agricultural and commercial banking with Lloyds Bank and Barclays. She brings extensive experience in business strategy, customer engagement, financial management and developing strong relationships across the farming and wider agricultural industry.
Sam has also been actively involved with a number of industry boards, councils and committees and is passionate about developing people and supporting the future resilience of British agriculture. Alongside her professional career, she is involved in developing her family farming business in Northumberland.
